I like to think that I’m not a snipe nor am I prone to judge companies based strictly on the perceptions of others. However, somehow this letter from Kurt Denke (president of a company called Blue Jeans – an audio cable maker) to attorneys representing Monster Cable struck my fancy in a big way and certainly got me rooting for Blue Jeans even without knowing all the facts of the case. I don’t know that I have ever enjoyed reading a letter in ‘legalese’ before but Mr. Denke has found a way to make it thoroughly enjoyable.
More than anything, though, I think this letter drives home how an individual or small company can easily make a truly significant statement when injustice is seen. Will he win his case? Beats me but, as he says, the importance of speaking up would thoroughly trump any expenses to his company anyhow.
